Happy New Year!

Well, I had a chance to create today. This is what I did for the Sparkpeople - Stamping to Lose challenge of the week. I'm not overly impressed with either of them, but here they are.

The challenge was to create a blue card with buttons. I immediately thought of the true blue friend stamp from the Punches Three hostess set. And because blue isn't my favorite color I had to add some yellow!

Thanks for this challenge... I don't normally use buttons so it was a stretch! Good to get the old brain going. Anyone else want to take this challenge?

Merry Christmas Friends

Let me start by saying how much you all mean to me. Being creative has freed me to be a better person and I am so happy that I get to share that with all my stamping and scrapping friends.
Now here's a poem that has been circulating around lately, but it is so me! Enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas!

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,I'm glued to the tree.I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.Could it be card stockor chipboard or lace? Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face. And that's when I heard him,"Hi Santa!" I said.

"You know, good little girls should be in their beds."

"I know I should Santa. And now I've been caught,'Cause I'm so excited to see what you brought!"

"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work." He shook his head quickly,And left with a jerk.I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear:"You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"

What you can do with a 2.50 container

I had a gift to put together last night so I went to work stamping and punching. I used the snowflake from Season of Joy and stamped with Tempting Turquoise on Whisper white. Then I punched them out, added some Orchid Opulence paper behind, then finished it off with a scalloped circle of Tempting Turquoise or Pacific Point. Here's what I ended up with...

Then, while the kids were at pep band, I found this little container at a local dollar type store for 2.50. I added a band of Tempting Turquoise with Whisper White. I stamped snowflakes from the Snow Swirled set in Tempting Turquoise, Orchid Opulence, and Pacific Point. Here's what this part looked like...

Then I added a pretty stamped top to it. Here is a picture of that.

I hope you enjoyed this quick little project. Try it out if you need a quick gift for this holiday season. I think I will start keeping peppermint patties stashed around the house. This would be a great gift for any season. By the way, this little container holds about 1 1/2 bags of peppermint patties.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
